Base Pay Range: $110,900.00 - $188,500.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits identified below. Group/Division

The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.

We play a central role in developing sophisticated long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working in areas such as light sources, lasers, sensors, optics and more. We are engaged at the front end of the research and development process, and once the technology is validated, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical mentorship into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we take full advantage of the collective knowledge within our company.

Where problem solving becomes innovation!

Responsibilities

  • Design of precision components, subsystems and interfaces to be used in test benches or prototypes.

  • Collaborate with the team on multi-disciplinary projects to drive the component selection and fabrication based on project requirements

  • Hands on experimental work to enable and verify design innovations. Subsequent analysis of data and presentations.

  • Help with solving and resolving issues

Requirements

  • Experience with high-precision opto-mechanical design for precision instruments

  • Hands on experience with vacuum systems, plasma characterization, high power lasers, benchtop optical systems and computational fluid mechanics is a plus.

  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling using CAD, preferably ProE/Creo

  • Analytical problem-solving skills in the structural, dynamic, thermal and fluid domains

  • Standout colleague with excellent written and verbal communication styles

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years
