Position Summary:

Administrative responsibility for Clinical Pastoral Education program. Develops, organizes, and directs department educational activities pertaining to spiritual/pastoral care, guidance and training of student chaplains as they provide spiritual care to patients, families and Hospital employees in accordance with philosophy, mission statement and objectives of the Hospital.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires Master's of Divinity (M.Div.) degree or equivalent of formal theological education from a theological seminary accredited by the Association of Theological schools, or equivalency granted through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), Inc.
  • Requires current ordination and endorsement for specialized ministry from a nationally recognized religious community.
  • Requires current certification as a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains or an equivalent national professional Chaplains organization.
  • Requires certification as an ACPE Associate Supervisor with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Requires at least 5 years of professional pastoral ministry in a clinical setting; experience in an academic medical center is preferred.
  • At least one year managing a CPE program is preferred.
