Job Duties and Responsibilities
THE PRIMARY REASONS FOR THIS JOB:
- Manage dock door assignments.
- Effectively and efficiently load all outbound material.
- Effectively and efficiently unload all inbound material.
- Count and verify all inbound/outbound material.
- Enter shipments into the system, create all proper shipping documentation
- Receive shipments into the system, create all proper receiving documentation
- Collaborate with hourly Material Handlers directing what material to sequence, stage and load.
- Assist with locating material in plant if necessary.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follows verbal and written instructions.
- Enters all information into the system to create shipments/receipts on a timely basis.
- Prints bar code labels and attaches to product to ensure proper identification.
- Responsible for performing trouble-shooting activities daily, when receiving / shipping transactions or One network transaction fail. This requires knowledge of the Oracle inventory modules, Work-In-Process Modules, Purchasing Modules, One network Modules and Shipping Modules.
- Responsible for applying a systematic problem-solving approach when transactions fail. They must know what information their transactions are dependent upon, verify that information is in place and contact the appropriate people when they discover which part of the information is missing.
- Responsible for knowing the various types of receiving / shipping transactions and when to use them. This is dependent upon on the type of part shipped, i.e. sequenced load, batch load, LTL or loose parts.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Observes prescribed safety regulations and other standards of operation and conduct.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with trucking companies and customers.
- Performs other related duties as directed by assigned supervisor.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR TRAINING PREFFERED
- Computer Skills
- Manufacturing Experience
- Forklift Safety Training
- Knowledge of How to Prepare and Stage Load
- Knowledge of How to Read Shortage Sheets
- Knowledge of Loading
- Knowledge of Weights/Measures
- Thorough knowledge and fundamentals of inventory control
- 2-year degree or related experience in Shipping and Receiving Logistics
REQUIREMENTS
- Attendance is mandatory and must be on time for work
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed
- Must have strong attention to detail, be orderly and practice good housekeeping
- Must be flexible and willing to perform any task assigned by Supervisor
- High School Diploma or GED
