Staff Research Associate 2

Description Under the direction of a Research Scientist, you will coordinate basic laboratory experiments independently and in consultation with supervisor. As our Staff Research Associate you will perform and assist in basic molecular and cellular experiments including cloning, PCR, gene expression analysis, lipid extraction/analysis. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Assist in establishing and maintaining rodent colony.
* Maintain records, set up breeding cages and timed mating, wean mice, collect tail biopsies, and genotyping.
* Process phenotypes of new mouse strains and crosses: behavioral screenings, measure body weights, excrement collection, treadmill and metabolic profiling.
Salary range: $27.09-$43.58 Hourly

Qualifications Required:
* Strong foundation in Molecular and Cell Biology including cloning, PCR, tissue culture, Biosafety, and other techniques
* Must have an outstanding record of cloning experience including successful cloning of challenging constructs and viral vectors.
* Previous experience in the field of Long Noncoding RNA Biology
* Working skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
* Experience with MS Office Suite, PubMed, and EndNote
* Ability to document and archive research programs and processes.
* Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
* Ability to transmit correspondence by facsimile.
* Ability to shift priorities and adapt to changes.
