The UHS Corporate Insurance Department is hiring a Safety Manager - Workers Compensation that is responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of UHS corporate loss prevention initiatives to reduce staff injury and workers compensation expenses for assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct assessments to identify hazards, evaluate and recommend solutions to prevent future injury and partnering with facility trainers and leaders to design employee awareness/ injury risk reduction programs
  • Provide weekly injury update to facilities; attend committee meetings (EOC, PSC, Safety, etc.) in person or virtual; participate in EOC rounds, safety huddles and new employee orientations; Monitor, develop and review facility Workplace Violence plans; Orient facility leadership (CEO, HRD, Risk Mgmt, etc.) to Loss Control programs; Schedule and attend onsite facility visits and complete site visit reports timely; Participate in corporate special initiative teams; Conduct ergonomic assessments
  • Employee Injury Investigation, Corrective action planning, trend analysis and other analytics
  • Prepare monthly reports to support chargeback program
  • Responsible for gathering documents from employees, managers clinics etc. to assist in the investigation and management of workers compensation claims

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years' experience in a Behavioral Health or healthcare environment preferred.

  • Must have ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize loss prevention service expectations to positively effective worker's compensation expense; must possess excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills in order to conduct accident trend analysis and appropriately develop action plans to address trends
  • Possess a working knowledge of insurance accounting and workers compensation claims
  • Proficient in department RIMS; minimum basic function with Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Up to 40% travel
