Senior Transmission Manager, West Coast

The successful candidate shall take full ownership for finding and advocating for a commercially and technically viable grid connection in line with our timeline for the construction of commercial scale floating offshore project in RWE's Humboldt lease area.

Responsibilities:

* Lead transmission interconnection strategy for RWE's utility-scale renewable projects, with focus on offshore wind in West Coast. Evaluate potential grid interconnection alternatives, and corresponding costs, benefits, and challenges for each alternative.

* Scope, request, and review interconnection studies, congestion studies, and other analysis from transmission providers and consultants.

* Present and report progress and findings within project team, SteerCo, and management

* Maintain good relationships with CAISO and other relevant stakeholders and participate in stakeholder processes. Advocate for and track transmission projects via CAISO, WECC, WestConnect, and NorthernGrid. Coordinate with Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs team to ensure policy advocacy is aligned with transmission needs

* Represent RWE on relevant industry forums and working groups, and align with industry partners on finding synergies that drive project economics.

* Assist Development, Regulatory, Construction, Engineering, Operations, and Dispatch teams with multiple aspects of project development, design and operation.

Qualifications:

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build up and maintain business relationships

* Knowledge and experience in transmission planning, transmission development, and/or project interconnection in CAISO and/or WECC

* Familiarity with regulatory process; experience in participation in market stakeholder processes preferred

* Minimum of 5 years of experience.

* Minimum Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related/similar field.
