This position is responsible for the design, planning, documentation, installation, management, support and enhancement of networking systems used throughout the CareMount Medical organization. This position must keep abreast of IT and health care IT developments and trends. This position must also have the ability to work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) in various clinical disciplines as needed to assess and recommend workflow and system design requiments and improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Project Activity

    • Collaborate with SMEs and various levels of management to define business requirements
    • Translate business requirements into networking design while also identifying and documenting risks and issues
    • Create test plans, conduct testing, and validate test results
    • Provide pre, peri, and post go-live systems and end user support
    • Provide guidance and support to other members of the IT organization as needed
    • Mentor other members of the network team and IT as needed


  • Analytical Skills

    • Must be highly proficient in current networking, IT and health care IT technologies
    • Communicate with departments and users to ensure clarity of objective, status or resolution
    • Develop solutions to issues or project related dependencies work
    • Prepare documentation which supports a knowledge base for other IT resources


  • Quality Assurance

    • Ensure systems work as expected when introduced into the production environment
    • Create and maintain support documentation
    • Document identified issues and resolutions
    • Train other IT resources on how to operationally maintain and support systems as needed


  • Support Management

    • Proactively and reactively managing and resolving system and end user issues
    • Hands-on troubleshooting of issues which will include problem recreation, research and analysis to determine root cause and resolution; document findings, update ticket management application, update departmental knowledge base
    • Develop supporting documentation to be utilized by peers or the Help Desk
    • Provide off hour, weekend and holiday support as needed


  • Meetings

    • Preparing and participating in all required meetings
    • Adhere to all change management procedures


  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as requested by manager(s) and supervisor(s)

Required Qualifications:



  • 7+ years hands-on networking Information Technology experience or Healthcare Information Technology experience with systems and applications in use at CareMount Medical e.g. Cisco Nexus, routers, switches, FWs, VPNs, web filtering, SolarWinds, wireless technologies, etc.
  • Demonstrable skill and experience in starting and completing assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Solid and demonstrable networking and technical analysis skills
  • Solid and demonstrable problem determination and resolution skills
  • Proven excellent writing skills in order to effectively create or revise policies and procedures; able to clearly and concisely summarize issues and communicate verbally and via email, memo or guideline
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and schedule activities
  • Demonstrated self-directed, self-motivated, self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and customer service skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering, IT and health care IT related program
  • Applicable professional certification i.e. R.N, R.T. CIIP, MCP, A+, CCIE, CCNP, etc.
  • Clinical (Nursing, Radiology, Laboratory, Medical Device Integration) experience
