Panorama is hiring an experienced Painter to join our Facilities Maintenance team!

As a Painter at Panorama, you'll be responsible to prepare, prime, paint, and clean up after painting the interior and exteriors of buildings, metalwork, campus structures, parking lots, offices, and homes as assigned. This position interacts professionally and in a helpful manner with other departments and employees as well as our residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Prepares surfaces for painting including removing old paint, filling holes, and pressure washing exterior surfaces. Ensure that surfaces are not susceptible to moisture by sealing cracks and corners where building materials meet.
  • Apply primer as appropriate. Painter is responsible for applying suitable primer and paint at the appropriate spread rate and temperature in order to ensure the best results.
  • Job site preparation and clean up as instructed. Use of drop cloths or tape, proper ventilation, and appropriate containment of area is essential. Move furniture as necessary. Protection of household items; cover carpets and vinyl with drops.
  • Caulk all baseboards and mask edges. Fill unwanted holes on surface to be painted; texture when necessary. Brush and roll walls and ceiling using latex interior paint.
  • Extensive drywall repair, staining, and spraying. Knowledge of various sprayers preferred.
  • Exterior jobs include buildings, parking lots and roadways, privacy panels, fencing, surrounds, signs, mailboxes, railings, gates, etc. Preparations are required, in addition to covering landscape, concrete and windows with drops or plastic as appropriate.
  • Pressure washing or cleaning of surface may be required prior to paint.
  • Parking lots are striped and hot tape is applied as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:



  • High school education or the equivalent required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively using verbal and written English.


EXPERIENCE:



  • At least one year experience performing comparable work to the duties and responsibilities of this position. Experience or aptitude to provide customer service to seniors is preferred.
  • Knowledge of paint products, stains, and other applications is necessary.
  • Knowledge of color theory preferred
