Network Contract Manager - Remote in Mid-Atlantic Region

This Network Contract Manager role with UnitedHealth Group will call on your knowledge, your energy, and your commitment to making health care work more effectively for more people. You'll guide the development and support of Provider Networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. This role is responsible for contracting for MD and DC participating and non-participating hospital and associated ancillary providers for the E&I (Employer & Individual), M&R (Medicare & Retirement) and C&S (Community & State) business segments.

You will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. This position is open to candidates in the Mid-Atlantic Region (MD, DC, or VA area).

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls
  • Assist in the managing of unit cost budgets and target setting
  • Ability to analyze performance reporting and financial models
  • Serve as a resource on complex and / or critical issues


In this role, you will need to be able to thrive in a demanding, intense, fast-paced environment. In addition, you'll be driving some complex negotiations while striving to ensure accuracy.

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the health care industry with an understanding of hospital/provider contracting
  • 2+ years of experience in a health care network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in fee schedule development using actuarial models
  • Knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, etc.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry
