The position handles circulation tasks and may assist with collection maintenance. Reporting to the Manager of Circulation, the Library Assistant II will work both under little supervision and within a team-based environment, focusing on the ongoing tasks associated with the circulation of general collection materials in a library setting, including pulling, sorting, and shelving books, charging and discharging materials, and editing online records. The Getty Library uses the Ex-Libris suite of hosted products: Alma, Primo, and Rosetta. The Library Assistant II may perform physical processing of material such as marking, housing, repair, and evaluate the condition of materials. The Library Assistant II may work on occasion at the Library's Annex location in Valencia, CA. The Getty Research Institute is dedicated to furthering knowledge and advancing awareness of the visual arts and their various histories through its expertise, ongoing collecting program, public programs, institutional partnerships, exhibitions, publications, digital services, and residential scholars' programs. Among the world's premier art libraries, the Getty Library and its Special Collections include over 1.5 million volumes, rare materials, and digital resources, which serve a vast international community of scholars and the interested public.
