Product Stewardship Specialist

Job Summary

The Product Stewardship Specialist for interpreting regulations and assisting with global product regulation and compliance issues. Specific duties include new product and raw material evaluation including, health, safety and compliance with all applicable regulations, labeling, SDS creation, VOC compliance, chemical and product registrations, and any other related support. The candidate will assist with the development of efficient processes, management systems, training programs and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. This person will actively participate in the enhancement of the Product Stewardship team.

Key Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the creation of regionally complaint labels and SDS's
  • Review and approve label proofs
  • Perform global evaluations for raw materials, paint, and resin products
  • Assist in the development of a global strategy and compliance program for raw material and product evaluations
  • Assist with domestic and international product and chemical registrations
  • Respond to regulatory questions from domestic and international customers


Required Knowledge & Desired Skills



  • Bachelor's degree in safety, Chemistry, or Occupational/Public Health and Safety, Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a related field is required
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Safety / Compliance (chemical manufacturing)
  • A strong knowledge of domestic and international product regulations is required
  • A strong knowledge of SDS authoring and product labeling is required
  • Previous experience with WERCS regulatory software is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are required
  • Knowledge of paint or chemical processing is desirable
  • Training and experience working in a team environment is desirable.
