You will provide important support to genomic research collaborations for the Institute for Precision Health (IPH). This will include the management, coordination, and implementation of IPH projects, in alignment with the program's strategic goals. You will:
* Coordinate and complete assigned projects on time, within budget and scope
* Establish timelines, monitor/summarize progress, and develop status reports
* Coordinate and orchestrate large-scale events
* Serve as the liaison between the IPH leadership and the implementation teams
* Ensure scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues are effectively implemented
* Create effective and efficient project management processes
This is a contract position that may transition into a full-time career opportunity.
The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $67,400-$133,400.
Qualifications We're seeking a self-directed, detail-oriented individual with:
* Bachelor's degree in the health sciences
* Five or more years of experience leading and managing projects.
* Experience with project planning/scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project and Open Workbench)
* Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework
* Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum)
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
* Strong problem-solving, prioritizing, and time-management skills
* Ability to foster strong working relationships with third parties/vendors
* Ability to thrive under pressure
* Current PMP certification by the Project Management Institute highly desirable
