Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno's Disability Resource Center (DRC) is looking for an Alternative Media Technician.

Responsibilities

The Alternative Media Technician is responsible for:

  • Processing course materials in alternative formats for students with print access disabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must be enrolled at The University of Nevada, Reno

  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must be willing to learn and work with new technologies and software

  • Attention to detail and timeliness are essential

  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, ABBYY FineReader, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with formatting and editing Word and PDF documents

  • Excellent written, oral and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with students, faculty and other campus personnel

  • Experience in OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software, scanning, image enhancement, Photoshop, and MAC Operating Systems

  • Experience with technology troubleshooting
