Job Summary

This is a Contract Position

Direct and oversee all medical care rendered to patients within the Emergency Department while on duty. Supervise the clinical care, procedures, charting, and interactions with patients and staff by residents, interns,and students.

The position requires a license to practice medicine issued by the California Board of Medical Examiners and Board Eligibility or Certification in Emergency Medicine.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) provides emergency medical care to approximately 150,000 patients annually at the UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals at Mission Bay and Oakland and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. DEM administrative and research staff supports the work of 80 full-time faculty, 70+ part-time attendings, a residency program, fellowship programs and over 300 housestaff and students each year. Required Qualifications

• Must have completed Emergency Medicine residency training and be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Requires possession of a license to practice medicine issued by the California Board of Medical Examiners
• Current DEA certification
