Compensation & Benefits Overview:

Our Mural Painters are paid at minimum $27/hr or higher based upon level of skill and experience.

The Role

To be eligible for the Mural Painter position at Colossal Media you must have previous experience painting advertisements in the Out Of Home industry. This position is for mural painters with several years of experience working with oil-based enamels and brushes at a large scale. Painters who do not have this experience but who are interested in joining our Paint team should apply for our Paint Apprentice openings.

We welcome painters who are looking for a fast-paced team environment. In addition to painting, we rely on each other to teach subsequent generations of wall dogs. The paint team at Colossal is one that works together to grow everyone's ability.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mural Painter position works within our paint team to execute walls from either a home base in NYC or LA. Within this position, there is an opportunity to teach workshops in the off-season or to potentially pivot toward management at a later date. Mural Painters will have the ability to work with the VP of Paint to determine their own professional and personal growth.

Requirements:

The Basics:



  • Valid driver's license and driving experience
  • 3+ years of industry experience specifically painting advertisements
  • Extensive experience working with bulletin enamels medium and brushes
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Superior work ethic
  • Zero fear of heights
  • Adaptable, persistent, positive, and focused
  • A good alarm clock
  • Availability to travel up to 1 week per month
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • The primary work environment for this position is outdoors, requiring the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climb to heights over 200 ft.
  • The physical demands for this position include heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, driving, and climbing.
  • Nights spent away from home traveling are no less than 25% of the time.
  • On-call shifts may be required.
