Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

Cadmus' Public Health Security team supports federal, state, and local clients as they address pressing public health security challenges. The focus of these projects include conducting after-action assessments of COVID operations and activities to improve future pandemic preparedness and response, supporting efforts to improve disaster-related mass care and human services operations, and supporting planning and preparedness efforts for the Department of Homeland Security's Chief Medical Officer.

The Public Health Security Intern opportunity is a 10 week paid Internship beginning June 2023. Interns will be assigned to our Arlington, VA office.

Applications should be submitted by 5:00 PM ET on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Responsibilities:

    Support analytical tasks as part of an integrated client delivery team
  • Provide research and analysis support on homeland security and public health-related topics
  • Develop concise, clear, and easily-consumable written deliverables
  • Support stakeholder coordination and communications


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate degree program
  • Interest in one or more of the following areas:
    • Policy analysis, development, assessment, and evaluation
    • Qualitative and quantitative analysis across emergency management and public health topics
    • Client and stakeholder outreach, engagement, and communications
  • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

Additional Information:

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen

Based on eligibility and job status, Cadmus offers an excellent benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) program, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance program, other optional benefits and various bonus programs.

The hourly rate for this position will depend on the student's degree level. For undergraduate students the hourly rate is $25 and for graduate students it is $30.
