What You'll Be Doing

Cadmus' Homeland Security Exercises practice area supports federal, state, and local clients to design, develop, and execute exercises and crisis simulations across the homeland security mission space. These exercises and crisis simulations can range from small tabletop exercises targeted to senior-level officials to larger functional exercises that engage a broader set of stakeholders.

The Exercises Intern opportunity is a 10 week paid Internship beginning June 2023. Interns will be assigned to our Arlington, VA office.

Applications should be submitted by 5:00 PM ET on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Responsibilities:

Research realistic scenarios for exercises or simulations
• Develop associated exercise briefings and documentation
• Support on-the-ground exercise logistics and operations
• Collect and analyze data and information during exercise conduct
• Write post-exercise after-action reports

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate degree program
• Interest in one or more of the following areas:
  • Exercise development, conduct, and evaluation
  • Research and analysis across emergency management topics
  • Event management and logistics
  • Client and stakeholder outreach, engagement, and communications
• Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments
• Proficient in MS Office applications

Additional Information:

• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen

The hourly rate for this position will depend on the student's degree level. For undergraduate students the hourly rate is $25 and for graduate students it is $30.
