Educational Associate 12 month CCEIS

The Educational Associate - 12 Month is funded by the Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CCEIS) grant to support the effective implementation of the planned action responses across the identified schools. The CCEIS Educational Associate will provide professional guidance and coaching to school-based staff and ensure the coordination of the appropriate resources in the identified schools to address the areas of disproportionality. This position will maintain grant funding for SY23-24 and will require candidates to work at multiple schools and the district office to support students through the functions outlined below.


Essential Functions



  • Works collaboratively with the CCEIS Coordinator to develop, maintain, and update all project plans, documents, and timelines.
  • Plans, organizes, and executes professional development to increase awareness of the underlying causes of students' behavior and provide strategies and interventions that will promote a positive culture and climate in the identified schools.
  • Monitors relevant data from the Office of Achievement and Accountability and provide updates and summaries during bi-weekly team meetings.
  • Works collaboratively with the CCEIS Team to disrupt structures and practices that perpetuate systems of inequity that promote the identified areas of disproportionality for City Schools.
  • Conducts weekly school visits, meets regularly with the CCEIS School-based staff, and provides technical assistance with the implementation of the action plan initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the CCEIS Project Manager and Data Analyst with managing our internal system for capturing student information pertinent to CCEIS reporting.
  • Stays current on research and best practices in the field of education, particularly special education, educational equity, behavior interventions, trauma informed care and social emotional learning.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications



  • Master's Degree in education, social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Valid Maryland State Department of Education Standard Professional Certificate and appropriate professional licensure. Non-Maryland applicants should possess equivalent teaching/professional certification or licensure.
  • Three years successful teaching, related services, clinical services, or related professional experience in K-12 education. Specific experience providing direct support to students with disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local mandates as related to the education of students with disabilities.
  • Project planning and management skills.
  • Basic proficiency in the collection, monitoring, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills that ensure effective team building.
  • Proficient in the use of technical computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
