Regional Coordinator

Description

The Kauai Regional Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the chapter's strategy for reaching and serving constituents through community development. Identify and build new partnerships within the community, recruit, train, and manage volunteers who deliver Alzheimer's Association education programs, support groups, and social engagement programs, as well as create relationships with physicians and local health care systems to increase access to a timely diagnosis and quality care. The position will also provide support for all development activities to meet and exceed revenue goals.

Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Community Development



  • Develop new, sustainable community partnerships that advance the chapter mission, expand program reach, and increase program delivery as per Strategic Plan goals.
  • Build strategic partnerships with community organizations, academic, public, and private sectors to advance the chapter mission and serve more clients across the territory.
  • Conduct timely and effective marketing, promotional, and outreach activities on behalf of the organization, with a focus on increasing awareness of and promoting care and support programs.
  • Analyze service data to identify gaps in delivery and create opportunities to expand education and support programs.
  • Lead and conduct Community Forums in order to develop an informed and community-focused plan for service delivery.
  • Represent the chapter at appropriate and assigned meetings and events.


Volunteer Engagement



  • Implement strategies to recruit, engage and manage volunteers to deliver Association education programs and support groups in order to expand community visibility and service delivery especially among minority, high-risk and underserved populations.
  • Monitor volunteer program outcomes and results to reinforce organizational accountability.
  • In collaboration with the Program Director, develop recruitment plans and strategies.


Care and Support



  • Provide care consultations, assistance, and support to families and make referrals as needed.
  • Deliver care and support programs in the absence of a volunteer.
  • Remain knowledgeable and current on information related to Alzheimer's and related dementias as well as national, state, and local initiatives that affect the targeted population.
  • Work with the Program Director and Health Systems Director to identify and create relationships with physicians and local health systems to increase access to a timely diagnosis and quality care.
  • Maintain appropriate records, program data, and statistics as assigned on a timely basis.
  • Participate in all staff, team, committee, and other internal meetings as requested.


Development



  • Serve on the development planning committee(s) in designated service territory and assist in promotion, fundraising, and identifying volunteers to support events.
  • Support the grant deliverables and tasks for the County of Kauai.


Qualifications

Preferred Qualification:



  • Working knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and community resources related to aging services
  • Experience in developing community partnerships
  • Experience in outreach to the designated service territory
  • Public speaking experience
  • 2 years of experience with managing volunteers


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in social service, public health or health-related field and at least two years of professional experience, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with other staff, volunteers, and clients
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to move boxes and supplies up to 50lbs

  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment where limited resources can lead to strong demand for professional skills.

LOCATION: The Island of Kaua'i, Hawaii

STATUS: Part time, 30 hours per week
