Sustainability Specialist

Position Responsibilities

• Drive corporate wide sustainability initiatives to completion
• Identify and participate in developing Construction and roofing standards in order to positively impact future growth of the company
• Assist in developing the corporate circular economy strategy
• Assist in developing the corporate carbon net-zero strategy
• Serve as the corporate subject matter expert on sustainability topics
• Gain expertise and an understanding of various external programs, sustainable production schemes and common sustainability programs that the industry is using to engage customers

Position Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in related field is required
• Must understand how to identify and remedy problems by finding creative solutions.
• Must have the ability to develop strategies designed to forward our company's sustainability initiatives.
• Relevant environmental/practical knowledge and experience in the construction industry is required
• Knowledge of LEED certifications is desirable
• Experience with US Green Build Council is desirable
• Have ability to work in a team is required
• A self-starter, with experience diplomatically resolving issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions
• Understanding of global and sectoral sustainability initiatives
• Proven communications skills
