Description
The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Associate II. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Project Director, the SRA II will be responsible for coordinating activities for specified components of a multi-county evaluation study (or studies) of substance abuse treatment delivery across the State of California, with respect to the tasks and functions described below. Other duties will be assigned as needed by the Project Director and PI.
Pay Range: $27.09 - $43.68 hourly Qualifications
* B.A. /B.S. in Social Science or related field. (Preferred)
* Demonstrated experience in health related research or evaluation projects (minimum of 2 years). (Required) * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally, and in writing, with subjects, staff, and supervisors. (Required) * Experience with Literature reviews and summarizing/synthesizing complex journal level publications. (Required) * Skill in speaking and writing to persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. (Required) * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with treatment agency and project staff members. (Required) * Willingness to travel (domestically), and work occasional evenings/weekends. (Required) * Valid driver's license, dependable car, and insurance for field data interviews and attending conferences. (Required) * Organizational skills to maintain records and coordinate other tasks as required. (Required) * Experience with UCLA Travel policies and Travel reimbursement processes (Preferred) * Knowledge of web-based learning applications, such as Eluminate, GotoMeeting, etc. (Preferred) * Experience in data collection, including interviewing, and web-based survey applications (Survey Monkey, etc). (Preferred) * Ability to review and assess interview forms for completeness, accuracy, and internal consistency. (Required) * Demonstrated accuracy in computerized data entry and applications. (Required) * Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and relevant software programs (e.g., data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, tables, PowerPoint). (Required) * Ability to learn quickly and think logically. (Required) |
