This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as an Engineering Technician.

JOB OBJECTIVE: Responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve engineering-related technical problems. Assist design engineers in the development, testing and documentation of products and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist in Product Design: Work closely with product design engineers in the development of new products, providing technical assistance during the design process.

  • Prototype Development: Create and test prototypes of new product designs, making modifications as necessary to achieve desired functionality and aesthetics.

  • Technical Analysis: Perform testing and analyses on product designs to determine their functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Documentation: Prepare technical reports and document product testing results. Contribute to the creation of product manuals, specifications, and other technical documents.

  • Liaison with Manufacturing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that product designs can be efficiently produced at scale.

  • Quality Control: Assist in maintaining quality control standards for product designs by regularly contributing to the design and development process to ensure they meet both company and regulatory standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations, marketing, sales, procurement, support, and service to understand customer needs and provide organizational support.

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of product design processes and methodologies.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:

  • Resolve critical customer issues to meet customer expectations by working with cross-functional business areas.

  • Support other cross-functional business areas by providing training, problem analysis and guidance.
  • Less than 10% travel, domestic or international.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in a technical field and minimum 2 years of demonstrable, related experience.

  • Proficient with hands-on technical tasks.
  • Ability and desire to work across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) as required to successfully complete development projects.

  • Technology focused individual who seeks to continue improvement of their skills and are interested in sharing their expertise with others.
  • An energetic self-starter focused on getting results.

  • Ability and desire to work in a small, fast-paced and self-governed team with frequent changes in priorities and assignments.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and develop creative solutions with backing testing, research and data.

  • Experience supporting product manufacturing including: troubleshooting of issues, the use of specialized testing equipment; test fixtures, data analysis and report generation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering related field.

  • Familiarity with RFID systems, components and standards.
  • Experience with product certification and regulatory compliance processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional use of power tools for prototype assembly and modification

  • Ability to perform prototyping related construction and assembly
