Inventory Technician - East Bay, CA

In this role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday)

Pay: $23/hr. - $25.50/hr. (plus Mileage reimbursement)

This career requires you to have a valid drivers licenses and reliable transportation. As you will travel to 2-3 additional sites within the East Bay, CA area.

What we're looking for

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service experience is required

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Digital literacy including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.

• Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing.

• Excellent Customer Service Skills: displays a professional can do attitude

• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

• Must be able to lift 50Lbs

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

• Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment enters orders into computer systems, Web, etc.

• Receive inbound shipments from UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers

• Resolve all shipping errors.

• Manage customer's warehouse inventory, including delivery product replenishment

• Support multiple customers in a geographic area will require driving between facilities to perform Inventory related task

• Perform additional inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead stock, conduct cycle counting and yearly inventories, and reporting, etc.

• Perform shipping coordination activities such as answering customer calls, handling routine issues.

• Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems in fulfillment of job duties

• Meet goals and objectives: safety, performance, and quality.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
