Senior Machine Operator

Lead and instruct operators, utilizing various machinery to process company applicable products. Product includes various categories and quantities of incoming and outgoing company mail correspondence.

Sort incoming company mail by department and prepare for delivery and/or document scanning machinery.

Pick up printed outgoing jobs from offsite locations each day (sometimes multiple times a day) and prepare for processing on mailing machinery.

Coordinate, organize, and process incoming and outgoing job requests for the day. Ensuring each piece is compliant (as applicable) and has met the customer's requirements for timeliness and accuracy and meets postal regulations (if applicable).

Processes and downloads applicable machine system updates when necessary.

Setup mail processing machines for various jobs. Trouble-shoot, assess problems, and make machinery repairs/adjustments to ensure optimum machine performance.

Serves as a subject matter expert for Machine Operators.

Performs testing on machine system applications

Provide machine training to new employees

Compile daily production statistics to be used for monitoring department standards.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Two to four years of applicable machinery experience

Working knowledge of PC's and databases with proven proficiency in Windows environment

Must have mechanical apitude

Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitask

Flexible and able to change priorities and direction quickly and effectively

Maintain department safety standards and procedures

Ability to write and present clear and concise reports

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent pressure to meet the demands of multiple customers

Ability to stand and walk 100% of the time

Ability to perform physical activities requiring bending, kneeling, and lifting 50 pounds

Valid CA driver's license; clean DMV printout required

Working Conditions

Lighting and temperature is adequate. Individuals may wear safety attire such as glasses/goggles and gloves, but must wear ear protection against high noise levels during the operation of the machinery. Noise and paper dust from machinery is to be expected.
