Position Summary:
The Informatics Department in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is a diverse and thriving community made up of 31 full-time faculty, 127 graduate students, dozens of lecturers, and five staff. In addition to a PhD program, the department also houses two professional master's programs. The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences aims for excellence in research and education. Our mission is to lead the innovation of new information and computing technology by fundamental research in the core areas of information and computer sciences and cultivating authentic, cutting-edge research collaborations across the broad range of computing and information application domains as well as studying their economic, commercial, and social significance. The Department of Informatics Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the department, the Master of Software Engineering program and the Master of Human-Computer Interaction & Design Program events. As directed by the Department Chair and Department Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for purchasing and reimbursements, calendaring, audio-visual, rentals, catering, advertising, and other associated event logistics. The Events Coordinator will serve as contact on the day of the event and troubleshoot issues. The incumbent will also provide post-analysis of the event as requested.

$21.98 - $30.44 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range with the Full Salary Range $21.98 - $45.02 (Hourly Rate)

Required:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, school and department leadership, students, student workers, third-party vendors, and clients/customers verbally and in writing. Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Demonstrated ability in the areas of customer service and event planning. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
