Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for establishing operational procedures for activities in the warehouse. This includes hiring and training new team members to operate the facility.

The employee's primary duty must be the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of Helena or Helena's customers. This also includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

What your day may look like



  • Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and keeping the warehouse inventory current.
  • Inspects physical condition of the warehouse, equipment and vehicles.
  • Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintains monthly truck reports.
  • Meets with department leaders to ensure coordination of warehouse activities as well as other functions such as production, sales, records control, purchasing and compliance.
  • Directs salvage of damaged and used materials.
  • Participates in planning team safety and plant protection activities (i.e Safety Data Sheets) to comply with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Handles walk-in sales and works with supplier representatives.
  • Ensures that all drivers conform to DOT regulations.
  • Provides back-up to truck drivers and other team members when needed.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is expected.



Education and experience needed for this position



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of warehouse work experience is required.
  • Leadership experience is required.



Other skills that will help you succeed



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Operation of a forklift.

Your work environment and the physical aspects of the job

The work environment for this position is that of a typical plant environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud. In this position, you will regularly work near moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
