ABOUT

UC Merced Extension is looking for qualified professionals to develop management, entrepreneurship, and other related offerings intended to be offered as professional development and personal enrichment. Offerings may include non-credit or academic credit-bearing courses.

UC Merced Extension currently offers various non-credit offerings related to professional development, personal enrichment, and corporate education to the Central Valley region. These types of offerings are attractive to lifelong learners, career professionals, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as staff and faculty at various institutions.

*[Applicants are welcome to propose new or different course topics within the Management & Entrepreneurship area. Please specifically state your proposed topic to develop in your statement of teaching. Extension is open to new topic areas not listed above.]

As a Course Developer, you will develop, in partnership with academic departments and/or regional industry experts, course outlines and course materials to be offered in short course, synchronous, asynchronous, or another format as appropriately identified. Course outlines and course materials may include but not limited to course syllabi, program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, assignments, exams or quizzes, online supplemental questionnaires, grading rubrics, and identification of supplemental course materials. A course developer may be hired to develop as minimum as one (1) course and as up to as many as four (4) courses in a pathway or sequence. Courses developed vary in review and approval process, in which the course developer will remain accessible throughout the duration of the review and approval process to support revisions proposal materials and topic area-related questions.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications

As a Course Developer, you will bring:



  • a master's degree in related field as designated topic area
  • demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in the designated topic area

Preferred qualifications

Additional, but not required qualifications include:



  • experience teaching at the associate, undergraduate, or graduate level
  • understanding of effective pedagogy of face-to-face and online modalities
