Definition: Develops commercial and residential programs that support an evolving energy portfolio that includes increased local and regional renewable energy supply, energy efficiency, energy storage, increased electrification loads, dispatchable demand response, and the core components of safety, reliability, and economy. Supports tools, data analytics, consumer device options, and operational efficiencies necessary to achieve LPC and City of Longmont goals, and coordinates services and programs with Platte River Power Authority and other owner communities. Individual will work directly with internal teams, including engineering, data analytics/management, strategic integration, sustainability, and communications staff to design and implement customer-facing education campaigns, programs, rates/pricing signals, and incentives, where appropriate. These programs will educate, promote, and reward energy efficiency; distributed energy resources, including demand response; building electrification; and optimized building performance to support conservation, reliability, resiliency, economy, and grid transformation principles. Collaborates with appropriate applications vendors/partners to effectively develop and deploy electric energy programs (both behind and in front of the meter) and system tools that are aggregated and integrated with other systems, such as meter data management (MDM), load monitoring and management, and operational management systems. Supports LPC commercial and residential customers by offering energy solutions and value- added services in the form of energy efficiency and demand response programs, rate options, new technologies, and new programs. Helps manage large commercial customer accounts, including establishing and maintaining relationships and introducing and engaging key accounts in LPC programming. Principal Duties: * Coordinate development, implementation, and tracking for energy programs that promote electric efficiency, building and transportation electrification, demand response, and distributed energy resources that help populate the local energy portfolio. * Support integration and coordination among existing, incoming, and new IT/OT, IoT, and distributed energy resource management tools necessary to engage, monitor, control, and dispatch portfolio resources. Participate as a team member of technical experts necessary to fulfill this duty. * Support Electric Engineering grid system modeling related to capacity and deployment of devices and programs that influence electric grid management. * Maintain information systems for tracking program budgets, expenses, participation levels, energy savings, energy demand reduction, and environmental benefits. * Track and measure program goals and objectives, identify opportunities for program improvements, and track effectiveness of program marketing. * Help organize and maintain electric services program partnership agreements, contracts, purchase orders, invoices and related City Council documents (council communications, resolutions, intergovernmental agreements, etc.). * Help develop and coordinate relationships with retail businesses, fulfillment companies, and local/national vendors to support effective energy programming. * Work with internal communications staff and external partners, including Platte River Power Authority, to promote new and existing electric energy programs and encourage program adoption. This includes developing program content and marketing materials, and planning events and other promotional activities. * Develop knowledge and understanding of large commercial customer operations, rates, benefits/risks, and influences on electric distribution capacity and load management. * Assist in preparing grant applications and program design proposals. Help track funding sources. Prepare and submit required reports on grant fund expenditures, participation, energy savings, and environmental benefits. * Provide input to policy strategies that reflect customer concerns surrounding rate issues and proposed tariff changes. * Help coordinate internal teams to address specific product and program issues. * Maintain industry knowledge through training, networking, conferences and participation in professional organizations. Working Environment: Work is performed in both office and field environments and may involve occasional exposure to excessive noise, dust, electrical energy, fumes, operating machinery, and extreme weather conditions. Occasional light to moderate lifting and carrying (up to 30 lbs.), use of hands and fingers, correctable vision, ability to hear and speak. Work requires frequent reading, including documents and prints, problem solving, confidentiality, detailed work, customer and vendor contact, and multiple concurrent tasks. Work is performed regularly with others. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing or equivalent experience. Demonstrated mastery of energy or utility-related field. Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
