Job Description

We're hiring a Process Technology Engineer to join our Specialty Catalyst Process Technology team at our Baton Rouge, LA manufacturing site to provide scale-up and technical support for product development and commercialization. This position will focus on supporting the optimization and cost-savings efforts and leverage a candidates strong technical foundation and fundamental principles to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial atmosphere and adopt a strong safety culture
  • Develop and implement projects to increase plant productivity, decrease production costs, and improve overall Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)performance
  • Work closely with process chemists to drive continuous improvement
  • Provide support for production campaigns by conducting appropriate Process Hazards Analysis, compilation of technical documentation, and direct unit support
  • Own commercialization process by completing technology transfers to drive products to routine operation
  • Assist in troubleshooting requests from manufacturing team in support of commercial products
  • Lead start-up and commissioning efforts or, as assigned, on larger projects
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, or applicable internship/co-op experience
  • Effective time management skills and detail-oriented
  • High initiative and ability to learn
  • Self-motivated and independent worker with willingness and ability to also perform in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels within the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Sig Sigma Certification or Basic statistical skills
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical software
