The Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is seeking applicants for a Dietetic Internship Director. The candidate will be an integral member of the Nutrition Department and will be required to follow those responsibilities outlined in the MSU Denver Handbook for Professional Personnel. MSU Denver is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented and historically minoritized groups. Our Fall 2021 student population consists of over 57% first-generation students and over 50% students of color. We are a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) located in downtown Denver. As the third largest institution of higher education in Colorado and the only institution with an open access mission, MSU Denver is a model university for today's college students. The University serves the most diverse undergraduate student population in the state, as well as the most first-generation students and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals students. Responsibilities The Dietetic Internship Director will be responsible for the development of policies and procedures for effectively managing all components of the program for 12 enrolled dietetic interns per year. The successful candidate is expected to execute and oversee the dietetic internship program with emphasis in: 1. Recruiting and coordinating preceptors and supervised practice sites 2. Recruiting, selecting, and enrolling interns
3. Designing, directing and evaluating activities related to the intern experiences 4. Collecting, maintaining and tracking data 5. Maintenance of program accreditation including on-going review of the program's curriculum to meet accreditation standards 6. Coordinating and teaching a 1-week orientation seminar in conjunction with the Clinical Nutrition Instructor 7. Issuing verification statements 8. Intern mentoring, advisement, evaluation and counseling
9. Supervising and collaborating with the Clinical Instructor in delivery of the clinical portion of the supervised practice and bi-weekly seminars with interns 10. Managing the program budget
11. Communication and coordination with Nutrition Department faculty and staff 12. Provide necessary training to support staff 13. Teaching two undergraduate-level nutrition courses each year Required Qualifications

Salary for Announcement The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $96,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, training, and qualifications.
