Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector Sr is responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection, in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements
This position will interact on a regular basis with: Research faculty, technicians, and support staff
This position typically will advise and counsel: Unit leadership, research faculty, technicians, and students
This position will supervise: N/A
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Perform at-the-machine First Article Inspections for all multiple quantity precision fabricated parts
Job Duty 2 - Determine and perform appropriate tests needed to verify fabrication has been performed as specified
Job Duty 3 - Establish quality control program and inspection procedures to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, processing, testing and measurement; may be required to train others on program requirements
Job Duty 4 - Develop and document quality assurance guidelines, checklists, and defect reports for anomalies detected during testing process and refer as appropriate for correction
Job Duty 5 - Identify ongoing quality issues and make suggestions for improvement
Job Duty 6 - Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment
Job Duty 7 - Maintain Chromium conversion and anodization tank calibration
Job Duty 8 - Coordinate, track, and facilitate outside processing work such as painting, sandblasting, anodizing, etc.
Job Duty 9 - Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience Five to seven years of job-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college course work. Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
Preferred Experience Eight to ten years of job-related experience -experience with metrology
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES Ability to identify detailed defects in design or production
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or other customer specifications
Requires adherence to applicable safety rules. May require lifting, pushing or pulling objects of at least 25 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods
KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards

Grade S7 Anticipated annual salary $69,026 to $93,875 commensurate with qualfiications
