The School of Architecture (SoA) is one of five schools within the College of Design. Other schools include Industrial Design, Building Construction, City and Regional Planning, and Music. The SoA has over 350 students in five degree programs: B.S. in Architecture (190 students), Master of Architechture (104 students), M.S. in Architecture (22 students), M.S. in Urban Design (10 students), and a Ph.D. in Architecture (38 students). The faculty is made up of 23 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members and 35 part-time or visiting faculty members. The Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Architecture (SoA) invites applications for the Ventulett NEXT Generation Teaching Fellowship position for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is a two-year, full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track appointment requiring residency in Atlanta, Georgia. This appointment begins Fall 2023, with a review and evlauation after the first year. The NEXT Fellows is an initiative in the SoA intended to attract candidates who are at the beginning of their careers and interested in interdisciplinary teaching and research that merges design, technology, and culture. Responsibilities
NEXT Fellows will be expected to teach design studios and/or seminars/workshops at both the undergraduate and graduate level and participate actively in the life of the School. The workshops can be used to assist the Fellow in his/her own directed research that result in a public exhibition and lecture at the School. NEXT Fellows will be given an unparalleled opportunity to advance their own individual interests through teaching and design research utilizing the full resources of the College of Dewsign including our Digital Fabrication & Robotics laboratory that houses a suite of industrial-scale CNC equipment. Fellows will be encouraged to conduct interdisciplinary work with faculty from other schools within the College of Dsign and across campus, including computing, engineering, and sciences, and will be given support in making these connections. Fellows will also have the opportunity to work with SoA research faculty and Ph.D. students on projects of common interest. Required Qualifications
A teminal degree in Architecture or related field. Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should have at least two years of teaching experience in design studios and should have a demonstrated capacity for the integration of technology and critical thinking into architectural design. Required Documents to Attach
