Responsibilities

The Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer develops the technical definitions and common standards to enable proper diagnostic and vehicle communication support to development, manufacturing and servicing of CNH Industrial's full line of Agricultural and Construction. The engineer will support on specifying the diagnostic and network communication requirements for each networked component.

    Understand diagnostic capabilities of ECUs.
  • Understand the configuration and service requirement of vehicle.
  • Develop/create documentation of diagnostic and network communication for supporting the vehicle development.
  • Design on-vehicle communication network including functional and diagnostic protocol, message definition, bus capacity and timing analysis.
  • Interface to vehicle integration, architectural, system and software engineers to support implementation of diagnostics and network designs.
  • Ensure support for verification and validation teams.
  • Ensure application of CNH Industrial and Industry standards (SAE, ISO) and best practices.
  • Understand intended product end user needs.
  • Demonstrates support for company culture in their daily actions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
  • Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the quality management system.

The salary for this position is $101,200 to $146,050 annually. (Actual salary offered will vary and will be based on several factors including skills, experience and qualifications for the role.)



Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 2+ years demonstratable experience automotive/off-road on vehicle networks and diagnostics (e.g. UDS, J1939, LIN).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize work an escalate issues appropriately.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to peers, stakeholders, and senior-level leadership.
  • Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Team player who is self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership staff.
  • Understanding of System Engineering Methods (e.g. V-Model).
  • Preferred experience using Vector diagnostics and network development tools (e.g. CANdela Studio, ODX Studio, CANoe, CANalyzer).
  • Preferred understanding of ECU I/O (e.g. Analog input channels, frequency input channels).
  • Preferred experience using collaboration tools and ALMs tools.
