Editorial Intern

Aspen Publishing is seeking an Editorial Intern to be a part of a growing Company. The ideal candidate is interested in a career in publishing and is expected to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the editorial group's activities. The intern will participate in developing and producing publications, and working with all divisions of the company including sales and marketing.

TITLE: Editorial Intern

REPORTS TO: Editorial Director

DEPARTMENT: Editorial

FLSA STATUS: NON-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing support to the editorial group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide general administrative support for editorial and production group as needed
• Perform market research and other projects
• Work closely with managing editors and acquisitions editors to ensure accurate reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Microsoft Office
• English/Journalism Major a plus but not required
• Strong Attention to detail and ability to execute plans on time and at the highest quality
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Ambition to take on new projects and opportunities as assigned
• Strong organizational skills, including ability to organize print and digital files
• Troubleshooting and problem solving
• Prioritization and multitasking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to listen and speak carefully while interacting with others
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
