Job Description

We're hiring a Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician for our Baton Rouge, LA site who will report to the QC Supervisor. You will be responsible for performing laboratory work in testing a variety of products and recording/reporting results. This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts to include day and night shift, as well as weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards
  • Analyzes and processes laboratory samples
  • Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and R&D organizations as needed
  • Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.
  • Operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry or other science related field
  • Proficient with operation of typical computer controlled laboratory instrumentation
  • Diligent at keeping written and/or electronic records
  • Some prior knowledge of chemistry
  • Good work ethic and high professional standard is shown to perform the job properly
  • Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision along with working as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing lab environment
  • Experience with NMR and ICP
