Prenatal Genetic Counselor I/II

Description A highly motivated ABGC eligible/certified Genetic Counselor (GC) is needed to join our Reproductive Genetics Team. The prenatal GC provides genetic consultation to providers requesting genetic testing and will provide direct counseling and risk assessment services to patients across UCLA Health. In some instances, you may work in a multi-disciplinary manner with other UCLA Health providers. In this position, you will also support the ATLAS return of results process working in collaboration with the Lab GC in the ATLAS Return of Result clinic.
In this role, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and must be able to work with patients and staff who have diverse cultural backgrounds, life experiences, education levels, lifestyles, and socioeconomic statuses. Sensitivity and the ability to work with providers and patients confidentially and positively are essential.
*May hire GC 1 or 2 based on licensure or experience
Salary Range: $42.60-$63.06 Hourly

Qualifications * Master's degree in genetic counseling from an accredited genetic counseling program.
* Board eligible/certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
* License or License-eligible from the state of California.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply genetic counseling methods and techniques
* Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
* Knowledge of patient resource information (i.e. counseling, physician referrals, support groups, community resources)
* Skills in operating a PC word processor and programs
