Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Work-study requires that you are enrolled for a minimum of six credits that applies towards semester you are employed.
  • You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Job Duties


Job Duty

  • Assist patrons with checking out and returning materials at the circulation desk.
  • Assist with shelving materials.
  • Assist with shelf reading and maintaining order in book, AV, and periodical stacks.
  • Become knowledgeable with the layout of the Library and the campus in general in order to direct patrons.
  • Assist with general "housekeeping" tasks as needed. (dusting, washing tables/carrels/equipment/screens, etc.)
  • Become knowledgeable with the operation of the printer, copier, and microfilm reader/printer in order to assist patrons and be able to replenish paper and inks as needed.
  • Become knowledgeable with the operation of the online databases and online Library web catalog in order to assist patrons.
