What you will be doing


The Vice President, Enterprise Strategy & Solutions will be responsible for retaining, growing and continuously improving the customer experience for AmerisourceBergen's manufacturer customer-base. This role is responsible for achieving customer financial targets across their portfolio working closely with service teams and cross-functional partners to ensure a world class customer experience. The role will be expected to develop deep senior level relationships within key accounts to support AmerisourceBergen business units including sourcing, GPO and Biopharma solutions and overall relationship. The role will develop a deep understanding of client's commercialization needs and identify opportunities across the AB portfolio to provide solutions to enable the client to maximize patient outcomes.


  • Be the primary point of contact at the senior level for biopharma clients to connect them to AB solutions across Global Biopharma Services and the AmerisourceBergen enterprise

  • Achieve revenue growth targets within assigned accounts focused on Global Biopharma Services solutions

  • Negotiate large, integrated opportunities across GPS portfolio including sourcing, GPO and Biopharma Solutions

  • Connect and coordinate across AB to drive growth and client retention

  • Coordinates with applicable services line sales team members and SMEs to efficiently and effectively apply their knowledge and skills to the execution of the strategic growth plan for each assigned account, inclusive of live meetings, calls and presentations to clients

  • Establish and maintain executive level relationships to facilitate solutions across the AB portfolio

  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans that define strategy and tactics necessary to penetrate and close opportunities with defined targets

  • Consults with manufacturer clients to develop strategies and priorities for AB taking into account such factors as a Manufacturer's vision and goals, product pipeline and commercialization needs

  • Maintain accurate tracking of opportunities in salesforce across AB solutions including sourcing, GPO and Biopharma solutions

  • Support effective collaboration between strategic account teams and service line teams to ensure successful integrated solution delivery and strong customer experience.

  • Monitor market trends and competitive intelligence within the defined strategic accounts and apply key insights to AB's commercial positioning and strategic account strategy

What your background should look like


  • Bachelor degree in business or related field

  • 12+ years of experience in strategic account/sales leadership

  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge and leadership within life sciences industry and AB customer portfolio

  • Ability to acquire and grow executive customer relationships and productive and collaborative partnerships at all levels of customer organizations

  • Ability to work collaboratively build teams and mobilize with a large cross-functional team toward a set of common goals

  • Outstanding strategic and operational competencies, strong creativity and next minded approach to customer solutions


  • A self-starter with a proven ability in sales management, sales planning and goal setting, successful strategic and consultative selling techniques for pharma, biotech, and medical device companies

  • At least 10 years of experience selling services to healthcare companies.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing reports and disseminating information

  • Strong presentation skills; experience speaking publicly and/or presenting to clients on topics related to AB Strong interpersonal skills

  • ability to develop and maintain cooperative working and business relationships

  • Ability to lead others without authority in order to move internal teams towards achieving goals that support ABC's key strategic accounts

  • Ability to train others in strategic account management

  • Maintains excellent relationships with clients and meets routinely with c-suite level senior leadership within key clients

  • Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace

  • Strong analytical and business acumen skills

  • Strong creativity skills

  • Working knowledge of computers necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs

  • Ability to travel extensively and be on-site at manufacturer locations weekly
