Department Overview

PG&E's Business Finance team provides critical financial support to its operational Business Partners within the company. This support includes financial analysis; budgeting, planning, and forecasting; monitoring, controlling, and accounting; operational performance reporting and analysis; and strategic planning and analysis. These services are critical to achieving the company's strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

The Business Finance department provides a unique environment for energized and talented finance professionals to engage in the business as valued functional advisors, make meaningful contributions to the direction of a dynamic business, and be actively developed and recognized.

Partner Organization

The successful candidate will support the Human Resources organization and the Enterprise Change Office. The teams manage company HR planning, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, career planning, function evaluation, employee benefits, rewards, compensation evaluation, and change management.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will serve in a critical functional support role of the Corporate and Shared Services organizations.In this role, you will serve as a front-line business partner for all finance and accounting support of the business units and corporate items expenses, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, rate case support, and ad-hoc analysis. The opportunity to support corporate items provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to complex accounting and regulatory processes and gain a total Company view of earnings management. In summary, the successful candidate will balance and utilize their functional expertise, intellectual curiosity, ethics, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain integrative relationships and ensure best in class decision support and recommendation.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

California Minimum: $114,000

California Maximum:$182,000

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Planning (Long Term): Develop, advise, and integrate the business unit financial plans and performance baselines to meet the Company's long term operational and financial objectives.
  • Forecasting (Short Term):Provide timely, balanced forward looking financial assessments that capture current performance and enable nimble, value optimized operational and financial decisions.
  • Reporting & Analysis (Historical):Provide timely and accurate monthly financial visibility that objectively assesses performance, and proactive financial analytics that identify opportunities, risks, and associated resolution recommendations.
  • Regulatory:Serve as the financial backbone for regulatory filings; including business unit and corporate items expenses for our General Rate Case filing and Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase (RAMP) filing.
  • Process Optimization:Identify, and evaluate key processes for opportunities in effectiveness, control, and efficiency, and recommend and implement improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience or training
  • Minimum 5 years of related functional experience

Desired:

  • strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and overhead allocation models
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Exceptional time management skills to deal with tight deadlines
  • Strong Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP R3, SAP Business Objects, Analysis for Office, and PowerBI
