What you will be doing

Our Reimbursement and Policy Analytics (RPA) team provides analytic support and advisory services to help clients gain a deep understanding of health policy implications. Employing detailed data analytics, including budget scoring, payer mix and segmentation assessments, payment system modeling, and payer and formulary analyses, our team delivers evidence-based insights and recommendations that help increase patient access, particularly from a policy perspective.

We monitor health policy updates and help biopharma companies develop strategies to respond. Since 2019, we've developed more than 80 thought leadership pieces that have helped influence the policy landscape. In addition, our Health Policy Weekly keeps stakeholders up-to-date on legislative and regulatory developments that impact the healthcare industry.

Xcenda is seeking an RPA director with the ability to perform the following functions:

  • Serve as a health policy and data analysis subject matter expert and lead new business development
  • Develop and/or improve existing data-driven solutions and analysis frameworks to answer clients' business questions
  • Execute analysis plans effectively and efficiently and interpret and summarize results accurately
  • Create story-based narratives that articulate how results directly inform product launch strategies or influence policy decisionmakers
  • Maintain current, and develop new, client relationships around quantitative health policy analytics with a focus on pharmaceuticals
  • Oversee and review quantitative policy analyses, including claims data analyses, Medicare payment system analyses, and budget score models to prioritize issues that inuence client's ability to operate eectively as an innovative company
  • Develop Excel-based reimbursement analyses and models using prior SAS programming experience to perform analyses or coach SAS coders through complex programming strategies
  • Manage company's data repository and coordinate across corporate units to maximize use of available data for client projects
  • Identify new data sources and meet with data vendors to evaluate their data asset and use case scenarios for reimbursement and health policy projects
  • Collaborate with other Xcenda service lines including HEOR, RWE, and economic modelling on data-driven projects and business development opportunities with reimbursement elements
  • Monitor policy strategies and initiatives that address key issues in health care environment, including pharmaceutical coverage/access and reimbursement
  • Identify how legislative and regulatory issues will affect clients and their portfolios, and using a variety of data sets, provide insights to internal team members and external clients regarding emerging policies
  • Develop content marketing materials that highlight Xcenda's understanding of reimbursement, policy, and economics issues
  • Perform interviews and contribute to various industry publications on AmerisourceBergen's behalf as policy subject matter expert
  • Train, supervise, and serve as coach/mentor to members of Reimbursement Policy Insights team, particularly those involved in analytics
  • Refine and further develop relevance and breadth of existing RPA offering
What your background should look like

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • Graduate degree in public health, public policy, healthcare policy, or another data science related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years relevant healthcare policy and reimbursement experience
  • Quantitative analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAS
  • Experience with key Medicare and commercial data sets (e.g. medical claims, prescription drug claims, hospital chargemaster data, medical policy data, formulary coverage data)
  • Deep understanding of Medicare payment policies, particularly related to pharmaceuticals and associated services-particularly payment within Medicare Part B and Part D
  • Experience in a wide range of topics, including coverage, coding, and payment across commercial and public payers, and patient support services
  • Ability to translate detailed technical information to others with limited experience in policy or quantitative analysis

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Possesses and applies an advanced knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of projects of major complexity, sufficient to teach others. Must have achieved recognized standing in professional field through original contribution.

* Knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical device industry and experience with issues surrounding the marketing of
pharmaceutical products, including issues surrounding coding, coverage, and reimbursement of those products
* Knowledge of healthcare reform and its impact on pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical device industry

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
