Salary for Announcement

The minimum of the pay range for this position is $90,600. We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $108,000 - $120,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Certified Physician Assistant at the Health Center at Auraria. Position provides comprehensive medical/clinical services, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions for patients presenting for evaluation.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Uses electronic health record (EHR) system for clinical documentation
  • Codes all services provided with accuracy and appropriateness
  • Assesses multiple conditions when presented making differential assessment/diagnosis
  • Prescribes medications according to clinical license capabilities
  • Reviews State data base of dispensed medications per patient encounter
  • Provides mental health assessment and intervention
  • Provides casting and splinting as clinically appropriate
  • Develops patient treatment plans and follow-up guidance
  • Performs a variety of clinical procedures, including suturing, biopsies, etc.
  • Reviews medical history and patient allergy documentation, including review of external medical records
  • Provides health education and campus outreach
  • Determines and approves of referrals to other medical specialties as necessary
  • Orders and at times performs diagnostic testing
  • Consults as needed interfacing with multiple clinical resources
  • Performs a variety of laboratory functions
  • Provides wide range of primary care medical services
  • Reviews and interprets lab results and communicates to patients
  • Provides quality assurance for all practice components
  • Presents on clinical topics to peers and campus community
  • Responds to medical emergencies
  • Reviews x-rays and provides initial reads; review EKG's and other test resources, interpreting results
  • Maintains required professional development for licensure renewal
  • Responds/provides guidance regarding public health issues/communicable diseases; assesses instances of sexual assault
  • Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, Family Practice, PA, State/Federal Regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently licensed as a Physician's Assistant (PA) in the State of Colorado or eligible for licensure by start date. The license must be in good standing with no restrictions.
  • Minimum of 3 years of documented clinical work experience in a busy Primary Care/Family Practice setting; experience during training rotations does not count toward the required 3 years

In addition, selected Finalist must adhere to the Health Center at Auraria's immunization requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of documented clinical work experience in a busy Primary Care/Family Practice setting
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems

Work Hours

  • 40 hours per week, Full-Time M-F 8-5
  • This position is an on-campus position
