JOB SUMMARY

S&C's Feeder Automation Group is responsible for product development, product quality, product operations support, and product issue resolution. The Electronic Hardware group is responsible to produce electronic design and high reliable electronic hardware. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager-Electronics Hardware.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Designing, simulating, and troubleshooting analog circuits, power supplies and power electronics circuits
  • Designing and testing electronic circuitry in lab
  • Participating in cross-functional teams at multiple geographic locations.
  • Defining systems-level product qualification testing, life testing and production test requirements
  • Writing requirement documents, functional specifications, hardware test plans, and design documentation
  • Providing occasional engineering support for existing product lines
  • Occasional travel up to one week required.



Relevant experience required:



  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering required, MS degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in design of mixed signal circuits (analog and digital) or power electronics
  • Limited experience in simulation, design, and verification for one or more of the following areas:

    • Switching converters such buck, boost, buck-boost, fly back, SEPIC or other variant topologies
    • 3-phase AC power supply design with AC line voltages up to 480V
    • Energy storage and motion control topologies such as H-bridge
    • Custom magnetics and the associated electric designs involving transformers inductors
    • Low-noise, analog and mixed-signal circuits such as analog to digital, or digital to analog circuits

  • Knowledge of electronic engineering analysis and simulation tools such as PSpice or LTSpice is desirable
  • Knowledge of schematic and board layout tools such as Allegro, Cadence & ORCAD
  • Proficiency with relevant lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, power analyzer, etc.
  • Proficiency with mathematical analysis tools such as MATLAB or MathCAD is desirable
  • Experience with high voltage/high power electronics, design for EMC compliance and mitigation is highly desirable
  • Experience with medium voltage power distribution is highly desirable
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and productive with minimal direct supervision

  • Pushing: Infrequent pushing of objects, possibly related to rearrangement work
  • Pulling: Infrequent pulling of objects, possibly related to rearrangement work
  • Bending: Occasional bending during access to equipment
  • Reaching: Infrequent reaching
  • Handling: Frequent handling of parts or tools
