As the Analyzer Technician, you will maintain process analytical equipment within established guidelines, to perform preventative maintenance on all analyzers, associated sample systems, and to maintain housekeeping inside and outside the analyzer shelters. 

 

As the Analyzer Technician, you will:

  • Support improvements to existing and engineered process analyzer systems in close cooperation with supervision, I&PC and engineering.
  • Anticipate probable failures and take corrective action necessary to ensure minimum downtime and maximum uptime.
  • Support analyzer test and analyzer related capital investment projects.
  • Check each process analyzer and sample system on a daily basis for proper functionality and integrity, or as indicated by Intelatrac, The Visual Management Boards, and SAP.
  • Know the location of root valves, vaporizing regulators, impulse lines to and from sample plates for each piece of equipment.
  • Check gas/liquid standards, and carrier bottles weekly for proper pressure. Ensure replacement standards are ordered and on site before the expiration date. For critical Analyzers (HRVOC, CEMS, ISO, SQC, and Product) have replacement standards on site before expiration date.
  • Make complete repairs and replace any part of the process analyzer loop including components and carriers of the sample system (tubing, valves, fittings, columns, detectors, regulators) when warranted by physical examination. This is also to be done if process analyzer fails to comply with calibration guidelines. The calibration guidelines can be found on the PEMEX I&PC web page in the Knowledge Bank under I&PC Level 3 Work Process Documents.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance actions taken (Preventive Maintenance, non-routine maintenance and repair activities on all Process and Environmental Analyzers) This includes; (CEMS Data Base, Non CEMS Data Base, LEL/Gas Detector Data Base, SQC Data Base, and ISO records). 

 

Your work will be completed in a safe, environmentally sound, and cost effective manner utilizing the principles of the GAME-ME Process, Management of Change, and the Quality Improvement Process. This Analyzer Technician role is established to clarify evolving expectations and encourage maximum individual contributions.

 

Key to this objective is the Analyzer Technicians job knowledge and application of this knowledge.  You will be expected to know and understand all the fore mentioned processes, and the repair standards for all equipment worked within their craft line. You will working with their Supervisor to maintain your proficiency within your craft, learn and maintain craft skills associated with your job, and be receptive to coaching and work towards continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge. Analyzer You should be open to mentoring others of lesser skill and be accountable for all of your actions and meet the performance standards and requirements set by management.

 

Health Safety & Environmental:

  • Maintain 100% compliance on  CBT’s and all Insperity training requirements by the due dates. Initiates scheduling of all mandatory Health & Safety training (i.e. all respiratory, SCBA, & Fire Fighter Equipment).
  • Responsible for personal safety.
  • Stopping unsafe acts before/as they occur, including positive intervention with fellow employees when observing unsafe acts, practices, or situations
  • Corrects unsafe conditions or initiates corrective action when not able to personally resolve
  • Understands/reviews Complex and Departmental Safety and Environmental Orders as need/required and recommends changes to Supervisor.
  • Completes work tasks in accordance with Department and Complex Orders.
  • Participates in department Health and Safety Improvement Process.
  • Participates in safety meetings.  All should be encouraged to volunteer to develop and/or conduct safety meetings.
  • Participates in safety audits as requested.
  • Submits safety suggestions and works toward solution.
  • Participates in incident investigations and takes or recommends corrective action(s) where required.
  • Participates in development of Job/task Safety Analyses.
  • Identifies safety hazards and corrects, or develops and submits work request, or recommends correction.
  • Encourage participating in Safety, Environmental and Operability (SEO) reviews as requested.
  • Initiate emergency response procedures as required.
  • Reports all work related injuries to their immediate AFC and Medical.
  • Assists in investigating injuries, as appropriate.
  • Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

You should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Sound knowledge of all work practices pertaining to the Analyzer craft.
  • knowledge and active involvement in the work permitting process and hazard identification.
  • Knowledge and ability to use PPE commonly used by the Analyzer craft.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools common to the Analyzer craft.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair complex analyzer loops.
  • Safely operate forklift, aerial lifts, scissor lifts etc.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and ability to use DPMC standards and guides
  • Ability to work at heights, i.e. Side of column, roof top, climbing
  • Knowledge of basic electronics along with instrumentations standard signals.
  • Knowledge for temperature measurements including T/C types and ranges
  • Knowledge of tubing installation techniques along with the ability to install.
  • Knowledge to read, understand and explain Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and Oven Schematics.
  • Knowledge to use test equipment and communication devices used in the calibration and measurement by control system analyzer technicians.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of basic analyzer principles. This includes, but not limited to GC’s, IR and UV Absorption Analyzers, Oxygen analyzers (Paramagnetic and Zirconium Oxide), PH, Conductivity Analyzers, Moisture Analyzers, Aluminum Oxide Sensors, Quartz Crystal, TDL’s.
  • Working knowledge of Process Fourier Transform near Infrared Analyzers.
  • Knowledge of Analyzer Isolation, Removal, Cleaning, Repair, Calibration and Re-Commissioning of Analyzer Equipment.
  • Knowledge and ability to access work tickets in GSAP. Be able to properly record work History in the proper section and order in house stock materials to make repairs.
  • Knowledge and ability to acquire relevant drawings (P&ID’s, Spec sheets, Loop Drawings, etc.).
