The Presidio Trust is seeking a Content Coordinator to create engaging stories and images that connect the public with the incredible Presidio of San Francisco across a variety of media. Once an Army post, today the Presidio is one of America’s most surprising and visited national park sites, located right at the Golden Gate. Its nature, trails, views, restaurants, museums, hotels, homes, and offices are a global attraction yet a bus ride away for millions of people.

 

Working within the Marketing and Communications team, the Content Coordinator tells the park’s stories externally and internally through our website, social media, email campaigns, presentations, and other channels. Our ideal candidate is an inventive writer who is equally skilled communicating with words, photos, videos, and social media reels. They have strong technical skills to make narratives come to life using a content management system while tracking the success of our efforts.

 

This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting pay range of $60,911 to $71,574. The starting base salary is dependent on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Applications received by June 9, 2023 will receive first consideration.

Responsibilities

·       Create relevant and engaging content for a variety of internal and external communications channels, including but not limited to the Presidio website, employee intranet, e-newletters, blog, social media, reports, print brochures, advertisements, and PowerPoint presentations; content may include editorial copy, photos, videos, reels, and other assets

·       Publish timely, accurate, and engaging content to the Presidio website using a content management system

·       Provide support for Presidio social media channels, including the development of audiences, community management, and posting social media ads

·       Support maintenance of the content calendar

·       Capture photos and video of events, staff activities, and projects under development, and edit photos and videos to share with internal and external audiences

·       Ensure content produced aligns with the Presidio Trust Brand Guidelines and is targeted and compelling to the intended internal or external audience, including audiences diverse in income, ethnicities, and abilities

·       Ensure that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies are effectively implemented

·       Monitor data and analytics to track results

·       Support photo management using the Presidio Trust’s digital asset management software

·       Other communications duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, photography, film, communications, digital communications, advertising, or similar

·       Three years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or similar

·       Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud

·       Proficiency with photo and video editing software, and social media management software

·       Proficiency with content management systems, especially WordPress and SharePoint

·       Good knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs, and print media

·       Ability to convey information and ideas via strong written and oral skills; represents a high standard for professional communication in all interactions

·       Knowledge of communications best practices — including online, social, visual, video, print, and communicating with audiences diverse in terms of income, ethnicity, and ability

·       Teamwork skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, efficiently, and independently

·       Ability to produce and thrive in a dynamic environment

·       Must possess a valid State driver’s license

·       Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

·       Ability to work onsite a minimum of two days per week.

Desired Qualifications

·       Understanding of visual communication techniques

·       Experience with digital cameras, photography, and video editing

·       Strong understanding of content practices such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Media Optimization (SMO), and PPC (pay per click)

·       Demonstrates the Trust values of Service, Inclusiveness, Stewardship, Responsibility, and Sustainability 

·       Demonstrates a good sense of humor and a passion for the Presidio Trust’s mission

The Marketing and Communications team advances and protects the reputation Presidio and Presidio Trust with the public, stakeholders, and employees in partnership with the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. Our work in growing awareness of the place and agency brands, attracting new audiences and deepening the emotional connection between visitors, stakeholders, and employees ensures the Trust meets its mission of brining national park experiences to urban populations at no cost to taxpayers. In 2022 Time Magazine named the Presidio as one of the top 22 places to visit in the world, and the New York Times credited the park’s opening of the Presidio Tunnel Tops as why San Francisco’s reputation is turning the tide as a “must-see” place to be.

 

Background Investigation

The Presidio Trust has identified this position as subject to an employment background investigation which shall consist of a review of applicable county, state and Federal criminal and civil records, state bankruptcy indexes, driver’s license. An individual’s granting of a background investigation and resulting report is voluntary. However, employment in this sensitive position is contingent upon the successful completion of an employment background investigation. The Presidio Trust may refuse to hire an individual, may rescind an offer of employment to an individual, or may review and terminate the employment of a current employee not successfully completing the background investigation.

 

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

All Presidio Trust employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption. Employment is contingent upon submitting a COVID-19 Certification of Vaccination or qualifying for an exemption when hired.
