Your Role:

As the Production Team Lead (PTL), your primary purpose will be to lead and ensure on-shift personnel’s safe and efficient delivery of the daily operating plans adjusting as required to stay within prescribed operating limits. To accomplish this, you must effectively manage operating resources, communicate clearly with the Site Team Leader (STL) and PTLs in other functional departments, and interface daily with all production support personnel regarding the unit status and needs.

 

Your role as the PTL will require you to utilize your skills and talents to:

  • Delivery. Build strong working relationships with and leverage support from various stakeholders and peers to execute daily operating plans. Example interfaces:
    • Production Team – Asset Manager, Productions Specialists, Operators, Maintenance Supervisor, Inspectors, Process Engineers, and Safety Representative
    • Maintenance and Turnarounds – Planners, Execution Team Leads, and Cost Controllers
    • Central Engineering – Rotating and Static Equipment SMEs, other engineering counterparts in Electrical, Civil, Control Systems, and Environmental Engineering.
  • Personnel Development. Monitor and participate in developing operations personnel’s technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, communication effectiveness, and compliance with site and industry standards.
  • Abnormal situation management. Capable of remaining calm under abnormal situations, assessing operator needs, and communicating necessary actions to safely stabilize or shut down equipment to protect personnel and the environment.

 

To be successful, you should have:

·        Minimum 3 years of related Manufacturing Industry experience, Petrochemical or Refinery experience preferred. Specifically in one or more of the following areas.

o   DEA / MDEA treater experience.

o   Refinery Acid Gas treating experience. 

o   Sulfur operating experience.

o   Sour Water Treating experience

o   Console operator experience

·        Experience with Honeywell Experion

·        Manufacturing industry leadership experience is desired

·        Familiarity with SAP functions is desired

·        Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

  • Demonstrated skill in working with teams to achieve a common goal

 

As the Production Team Lead:

Your primary focal point will be delivering the daily operating plan in the production department. Below are the key areas of responsibility for PTLs. These are intended to outline core expectations and only sometimes be fully comprehensive.

  • Assure executions of daily operating plans; adjust as required to stay within safe operating limits.
    • Work with PTL “in-department” peers to ensure work is completed in the timeline given should the instructions be provided by email, EOS Guides, or word of mouth.
  • Assure safe and efficient execution of the ESP/RCM work processes.
  • Manage shift personnel (6 to 15 operators) to work as one cohesive team
  • Develop operator talent, leadership skills, and engagement
  • Embed Goal Zero Behaviors on shift.
  • Identify and assess operators’ development needs.
    • Work with FLA on operator training and development activities
    • Supervise and coach operators
    • Develop competencies of operators
    • Assure execution of mandatory and developmental training plans.
  • Communicate with all support organizations on production status and needs.
  • Interface with Union Stewards to develop strong collaborative relationships and resolve concerns.
  • Leader on shift for safety and environmental awareness and programs. Includes participation in Department Health and Safety Teams and champion of HSE issues for operators.
  • Manage operating resources on shift to minimize adverse impact on employees, achieving operating plan and cost targets.
  • Manage day-to-day operator labor and sundry costs.
    • Utilization of on-shift resources
    • Adherence to Attendance Management Program
    • Support operator participation in volunteer activities and special initiatives such as SUMIT, JHST, Emergency Response, turnaround, and project representation.
    • Appreciation for Union/Management interface and Protocol Agreement
  • Assure initial response leadership for abnormal situations.
  • Stay engaged with key initiatives relative to the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate key leadership competencies:
