What you will be doing

As part of Cybersecurity Engineering and Analytics team, the Principal Engineer will plan, execute, and manage multi-faceted projects related to Cloud Security. Focus will be on maturing the Cloud Security program by updating the strategies, policies/standards, ensuring the effectiveness of technological solutions for Cloud Native Security, Cloud Security Posture Management, Cloud Workload Protection, Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform, SaaS Security, Zero Trust, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Forensics.

  • Develop, maintain Azure cloud security controls to secure cloud providers such as Azure, GCP and AWS using cloud native tools such as Azure Defender, Prisma Cloud, Netskope, Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection, and others.

  • Support Cloud Security Posture Management (CPSM) and Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP) applications.

  • Secure sensitive data including HIPAA, GDPR, PCI, PII, PIPEDA by implement appropriate security controls.

  • Develop and maintain playbooks for cloud incident response and forensics

  • Participates in Business table-top exercises.

  • Support data protection initiatives across cloud services including Azure, Office 365 and Salesforce.

  • Integrate security controls with on-prem network devices and cloud platforms.

  • Analyzes reports and makes recommendations as needed for management decisions.

  • Provide strategic and tactical direction and consultation on information security (policies, procedures, standards) and compliance.

  • Develop, refines and implements of enterprise-wide security policies, procedures and standards to meet compliance responsibilities.

  • Monitor compliance with security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.

  • Develop processes and procedures for the information security governance program, including control document reviews, participant assessment preparation, meeting coordination, assessment finding mediation, assisting control owner with remediation plan development, tracking findings through remediation, progress monitoring, reporting and escalation.

  • Consults with other business and technical staff on potential business impacts of proposed changes to the security environment.

  • Reviews risk assessments, analyzes the effectiveness of information security control activities, and reports on them with actionable recommendations.

  • Monitors risk mitigation and coordinates policy and controls to ensure that other managers are taking effective remediation steps.

  • Monitors and analyzes information security performance reports and escalates issues as needed.

What your background should look like
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Analysis, Information Systems, Business Analytics or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically requires seven (7) or more years of combined IT and security work experience with a broad range of exposure to Data Protection, Mobile Security, and Cloud Security functions and over five (5) years' experience designing and deploying security solutions at the enterprise level.

  • Azure Cloud experience - required

  • Requires hands-on experience with security tools.

  • Requires Security Certification(s) i.e., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Management (CISM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Azure Security Engineer.

  • Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; working knowledge of applicable computer applications used at ABC

  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing - KEY

  • Able to provide oral speaking presentations to stakeholders with clear clarity

  • Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of network solutions and systems

  • Adaptive, flexible, and resourceful individual that is results orientated

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple Data Security, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Security solutions

  • Ability to communicate and work across many disciplines, including C-level executives, external clients, technologists, developers, and non-technical business users

$118,000 - 181,720

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
