What you'll do at Jamf:

The IT Automation Engineer II will work cross-functionally between IT teams, and other departments to use coding and software development practices to create solutions to help bridge the gaps in systems and processes. This specific role has a direct responsibility for supporting all internal custom-developed IT software projects in addition to creating new integrations, automations, and efficiencies in systems, applications, and workflows.

What you can expect to do this role:



  • Evangelize workflow and systems automation in all aspects of internal Jamf processes.
  • Work with our vendors to get the most out of systems APIs and integrations
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of our tools and processes between various systems
  • Work with the Documentation & Training team to create documentation and other supporting materials for system topology, support, and administration
  • Lead the maintenance of existing code repositories, source control practices, and code reviews
  • Support, update, maintain existing custom applications and automations
  • Troubleshoot, research, and resolve escalated technical problems and incidents in a timely and professional manner
  • Support and promote a positive, inclusive workplace in which the talents and strengths of our increasingly diverse workforce are welcomed, further developed, and manifested in our work



What we are looking for:



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role that included developing and managing python scripts (Required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role that included deploying, maintaining, and securing Linux based systems (Required)
  • Experience developing code to interface with external systems via API calls (Required)
  • Experience working with any of the following technologies a plus: Rest APIs, XML, JSON, PHP, PowerShell, Apex, MySQL, Git
  • Familiarity with configuration management, orchestration, and desired state tools such as Ansible
  • Familiarity with modern app deployments utilizing containerization and Infrastructure as Code
  • Familiarity with serverless computing on platforms such as AWS Lambda
  • Dedicated to making people happier by improving their tools and processes regardless of their role
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while simultaneously adapting priorities quickly and effectively
  • A high level of independence as demonstrated through clear problem-solving and communication skills and the delivery of high-quality work
  • Practical experience managing and supporting globally available enterpriseservices
  • Experience working in a compliance-driven environment
  • High School Diploma / GED Equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
