Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, the Lead Forklift Operator is responsible for accurately transferring product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area
  • Unloads and stacks material by using lifting device
  • Inventories materials on work floor
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. Must be able to document information as per SOP
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance
  • Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirments:

  • Must be licensed to operate lift equipment (licensing may be through internal or external training)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Military experience a plus
  • Prior forklift operation experience within a production, packaging or warehousing environment required
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc.
