Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy began as a grassroots advocate to turn 85 acres of abandoned waterfront into what is now the world-class Brooklyn Bridge Park. As the Park’s chief programming partner, the Conservancy welcomes more than 130,000 visitors across 500 free and low-cost environmental education, recreation, and arts and culture programs.

The Conservancy is seeking a talented, versatile, mission-driven individual to join our team as a full-time Individual Giving Manager. This position will join a four-member development team and play a key, strategic role in helping it deepen its fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for growing and retaining a portfolio of mid-level and membership donors through targeted stewardship activities and solicitations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead direct fundraising and stewardship for a portfolio of current individual and membership donors ($1,000 - $10,000); Cultivate existing individual donors and encourage renewal, retention and increased donor support.
  • Develop and implement moves management system for mid-level donors to deepen major donor pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to reimagine and reinvigorate the existing membership program; spearhead the implementation of annual and campaign fundraising strategies.
  • Support senior leadership and Board of Directors in their major donor cultivation and solicitation efforts, including upgrading current donors, stewardship and gratitude events and regular communications
  • Develop donor content across different streams (mail, email, etc,) for benefit events, donor appeals, direct mail, online giving, and other fundraising communications
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive donor profiles and donor strategy, in collaboration with the Philanthropy and Database Administrator, including a robust system for ensuring donor follow up.
  • Play an active supporting role in donor aspects for fundraising and cultivation events; Assist with event planning as needed
  • Use Raiser’s Edge NXT to document donor moves management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of development experience with strong preference for direct experience working with individual donors
  • Superior written and oral communications skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office, Acrobat and Google Suite and experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment with the handling of highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events and ‘all hands on deck’ program events.
