Job Purpose Dana Incorporated has an immediate opening for a Lead Product Engineer in the Core Product Engineering Group. This position will focus on the design and development of constant velocity joint products. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Develop constant velocity joint designs for propshafts and halfshafts * Benchmark current constant velocity joints and intellectual property as design inputs * Incorporate customer needs into product design, interface with the customer (internal and external) on existing and new product being put into production, through the creation and maintenance of product engineering data * Work closely with manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and estimating group to ensure product designs are both cost effective and manufacturable while meeting customer requirements * Determine and communicate drawing specifications * Develop and coordinate Prototype Build plans * Develop and execute Design Verification Plans * Develop and maintain Design FMEAs * Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities * Evaluate the merits of change and deviation requests applying acceptable engineering practices, and coordinate/implement such changes when approved by the customer Requirements: * Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, (BSME) * 5+ years experience in designing constant velocity joints and related components * Knowledge of GD&T and design standards * Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability * Must have strong project management/follow-up skills in order to organize multiple responsibilities and meet multiple deadlines * Must have strong demonstrated problem solving skills * Understanding of manufacturing processes a plus * Proficiency in Siemens Teamcenter software a plus * Demonstrated proficiency in MS Teams and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) * Experience using Siemens NX, Catia V5, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD 3D/2D a plus * Must be familiar with Finite Element Modeling and interpreting analysis results * Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility * Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills * Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner * Willing and able to work extended hours when necessary * Moderate domestic travel and occasional international travel required We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
